2025 Friday Night Gala Film and Concert
Gala Feature and Live Concert at the Historic Empire Theatre in Downtown Belleville, on Friday, February 21st at 7pm
At the age of 16, Paul Anka left his Ottawa home for New York. It was the start a remarkable career spanning seven decades as one of the world’s most popular singers and songwriters.
His hit Diana in 1957 was the first of 10 top ten singles. As he toured the world performing for millions, Anka realized his songwriting talent offered him a greater chance for career longevity and success. He went on to write classics for Frank Sinatra, Buddy Holly, Michael Jackson, Céline Dion, Gladys Knight, and The Doobie Brothers.
Part concert film and part biography, the film captures Anka’s exceptional talent and his drive to create popular music for generations of fans.
“Superstar singer-songwriter Paul Anka gets the spotlight in this documentary that tracks a spectacular career spanning almost 70 years.” Susan G. Cole, 2024, POV Magazine
