DocFest is happy to announce that our Festival Passes are on sale starting today and in time for your holiday gift list. Our festival attendees asked for it, so this year we’re thrilled to be bringing back in-person pass sales as well! In-person passes are on sale at the Belleville Public Library during regular business hours starting Dec. 1. All in-person sales are cash only and of course, we’re kicking things off with discounted early bird pricing!We are also announcing our highly anticipated in-person Gala Event, an evening of film and music at Belleville’s historic Empire Theatre on February 23, 2024.

The Gala film this year is Carlos, an intimate portrait of the musical legend Carlos Santana. The film recounts the events and influences that shaped his remarkable career that took him from street performer to 10-time Grammy Award winner and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

We are excited to be pairing our gala film with a live performance by Mexican-born Javier Vazquez (named the “Canadian Carlos Santana” by the Toronto Sun). Javier will be putting together a unique mix of Canadian and Latino musicians that bring the best of both worlds to create an exciting musical fusion.

In addition to the live Gala event the festival is proud to present a hybrid festival again next year. We will host an in-person opening weekend of films at three amazing downtown venues, as well as online streaming starting February 25th. In total, this second hybrid festival season will showcase 50 outstanding documentary films, plus filmmaker Q&A’s, and other events, over the festival dates of February 23 – 28th, 2024.
