James ‘Super Chikan’ Johnson – A Life in Blues

The story of American blues musician James “Super Chikan” Johnson known for his unique style of funky Delta blues presented with a good-humored touch.

In addition to Johnson, the film interviews several of his musical contemporaries including Bobby Rush, Cedric Burnside, and Charlie Musselwhite. Together, they celebrate one of Mississippi’s most beloved sons and his personal quest to preserve the roots of Delta Blues.
