Bill Reid Remembers
From treasured indigenous filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin (OC), this short film is a tribute to the life, art and legacy of renowned Haida artist Bill Reid. Obomswin combines archival footage and audio recordings of Reid’s life and art, adding her own voice, to tell the story of her friend’s emergence as an artist and his connection to his homeland.
Alanis Obomsawin has made over 50 films on issues affecting Aboriginal people in Canada. Her work chronicles the lives and concerns of First Nations people and explores issues of importance to all. This film celebrates her friend, his life and work with care and clear affection.
